The change in story/tone was a big hint for me. I know the D1 team left and formed Runic Games (Torchlight) but I am not sure what the fate of the D2 team was....might be a new pet research project.Clockworkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00565064315360664711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168597614461308610.post-64652461798791902432012-07-05T21:51:13.558-07:002012-07-05T21:51:13.558-07:00Which class did you get to 60? I am wondering if it is the Monk that has lead to the feeling of excess repetition.Clockworkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00565064315360664711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168597614461308610.post-37884765311004005942012-07-05T15:30:23.517-07:002012-07-05T15:30:23.517-07:00Great analysis. There was nothing that could take down the franchise, except...Blizzard themselves. And they managed to do it with Diablo 3.

I can live with its lame story although a good story would've helped. I like the flexible talent system (although Blizzard shot themselves in the foot by doing this since people don't need to keep making new characters and keep playing). But, the non-random random maps are incredibly boring, not to mention small. You could get lost in some of D2 zones. In D3? Just go North, West, whatever. Exit is always at the same place for same zones.

Still, the worst offender is AH. As a somewhat hardcore gamer, I feel bound to upgrade my gear whenever I can through AH. However, it cheapens the gearing experience so much and I hate that I'm "forced" to. Oh yeah, and the crappy legendaries don't help either. Yes, Blizzard can upgrade items in a later patch as they said the would. But, didn't they already do that in Diablo 2 (I think when expansion was released)? Didn't they learn anything the first time? It's as if some completely new, clueless people designed D3 instead of the same company that made D2. On top of everything, the game feels rushed. LOL "Act" 4. I'm pretty sure they really worked on the game during past 1-2 years although they'll never admit it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168597614461308610.post-46429305114833416062012-07-05T15:18:58.193-07:002012-07-05T15:18:58.193-07:00I'm new to the game and like you said I got to...I'm new to the game and like you said I got to Hell and got very frustrated, despite AH gear.

Spending some time with Kripp, however, gave me some insight into the complexity of the endgame. I bought 3 very cheap pieces of gear, and immediately took Act 1 apart. I also index stood how to price my own gear on the AH.

I farmed a bit, hit 60, and now I'm cruising through Act 3. More importantly, though, I'm having loads of fun. The story is now just a background, the fun is in the rhythm and the action. I'm loving it.Bristalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11849907713604626977noreply@blogger.com
